"Role-playing refers to the changing of one's behavior to assume a role, either unconsciously to fill a social role, or consciously to act out an adopted role. ..."

so basically you are in 1st Person Point of Veiw (POV) and you are like pretending to be someone your not... but of course in character!!

EX:

I walk in the class and I see guys try to hit on me. I give a gentle smile but muttered a chant under my breathe to make them slap themselves in the face.

Yeah, but you can also RP in Third Person.
